Mark Sefton (tenor horn)

Mark first learned to play tenor horn in the Pakenham Memorial Silver Band, Crumlin, before joining Hillsborough Silver Band.  He is proud to be a founder member of Downshire Brass and now considers himself to be a "lifer", having served over 25 years.

In Downshire, Mark has played Solo horn, front and back row cornet and even had a short stint on 2nd Baritone.  “I consider myself extremely multi-talented” he says proudly, “I can play all of them badly!”. He has since come home to roost in the horn section.

Away from banding Mark is married and enjoys time with his family, which arguably includes the cat, as well as DIY, reading and gardening, which includes lots of hedge cutting.  He also somehow finds time to fit in his day-job as a civil engineer with the local water company.
