Oonagh Fairgrieve

Oonagh Fairgrieve (Tenor Horn)

Oonagh began playing trumpet at the age of 8 in school. She attended the Belfast School of Music, joining the junior band. At age 14 she took up the tenor horn and began lessons with Brian Connolly, joining the Youth Concert Band, where she was able to travel to many destinations, most notably travelling to Anaheim California to play in the Disney theme park. Oonagh joined Downshire in 2001. She has contested in the NIBA and BBL, The Land O Burns Festival and Athlone. Her favourite contest piece is "Tryptich" and favourite band piece is "Sweet Caroline."

Outside of Downshire, Oonagh is a Psychology teacher and enjoys singing, baking, movies and anything Disney.
