PAST ACHIEVEMENTS

2007 Champions (2nd Section) at the 90th NIBA Championship of Ireland in October at Market Place Theatre, Armagh. This included the Jean Savage Memorial Trophy for Best Cornet Section and the John Beckett Memorial Trophy for Best Bass Section and the Herron Memorial Trophy for Winning Conductor.
Runners-up (2nd Section)
at the Annual BBL ‘Spring Festival’ contest held at Carrickfergus in April
2006

Runners-up (2nd Section) at the 89th NIBA Championship of Ireland at Upper Bann Institute, Portadown in October. This included the Jean Savage Memorial Trophy for Best Cornet Section.

2005

Champions (2nd Section) at the NIBA Entertainments Contest at Queen’s Hall, Newtownards in December. This included the Best March prize.

2003

Champions (2nd Section) at the "Brass In Concert" Contest  at the 6 Mile Leisure Centre, Ballyclare in February. (This included Best March and the Soloist Prize).

2002

Champions (2nd Section) at the Annual BBL ‘Spring Festival’ contest in Glengormley High School in April.
Runners-up (2nd Section) in the Annual NIBA Contest at Ulster Hall, Belfast in October.
3rd Place (2nd Section) in the BBL Entertainment Contest at Park Avenue Hotel, Belfast in December.

2001

Runners-up (3rd Section) at the Annual Entertainment Contest in Troon, Scotland in June. Also, 2nd prize (overall) for Dress and Deportment
Champions (2nd Section) at the NIBA Contest at Ulster Hall, Belfast in October.

2000

Jointly awarded the Haughton Cup for Band Of The Year along with The Laganvale Band.
Runners-up (2nd Section) in the Annual NIBA Contest at Ulster Hall, Belfast in October.

1997

Awarded the Haughton Cup for Band Of The Year for the1996/7 contesting period

1996

Awarded the Haughton Cup for Band Of The Year for the1995/6 contesting period
Contested in the North of England Brass Band Contest in Buxton in May and although not being placed, nevertheless this was found to be a very rewarding experience.

1995

Awarded the Haughton Cup for Band Of The Year for the1994/5 contesting period. This was based on the successes in the NIBA and BBL Contests together with those results achieved at the Annual Solos & Quartets Competitions across all Brass Sections within the Northern Ireland Bands scene. This achievement was due in no small way to the efforts of the Junior Band.
