Linda Price (cornet)

Linda joined Knightton Town Silver Band in Knighton, Mid-Wales at the age of eight. Coming from Wales she enjoyed the tradition of brass-banding and didn't have too much choice about joining as her Grandfather was the very keen band Chairman for many years Starting out on flugal Linda went on to play in the Powys Youth Band which drew in young players from accross rural Wales and progressed on cornet in her own band which was very much part of the local, rural community playing at concerts and community events.
Linda's has always enjoyed banding when she can fit it in inbetween family and work commitments. Coming to Belfast in 2005 as an academic at Queen's University, it was a pleasure to join the newly formed Queen's Brass Band on cornet a few years later and to then be invited to join Downshire Brass. Although work commitments take Linda away from time to time coming home to make music with the very special group of people in Downshire Brass is a wonderful part of living in Northern Ireland.
