Olivia Orr (Cornet)
I began playing the trumpet at the age of seven and have developed my skills to a high level, passing Grade 8 Jazz while still in P7 and Grade 8 Classical Trumpet at the age of 15. I have had the opportunity to perform with numerous bands including the Royal Irish Regimental Band and the Royal Marines band, as well as being a member of the Ulster Youth Jazz Orchestra (UYJO). One of my proudest musical achievements has been singing at Carnegie Hall with the Methodist College Belfast Chapel choir in an American premiere for a work by Karl Jenkins.
I joined Downshire Brass in October 2025. Alongside being an active member of the band, I work as a music teacher, specialising in brass and piano, where I enjoy helping students develop their musical abilities and confidence. I am also currently studying Music at Queen’s University Belfast. Through these experiences, I continue to grow both as a musician and as an educator, while sharing my passion for music with others.
