New Principal Cornet Appointed

Downshire is delighted to announce the appointment of Hannah Copes as the Band's new Principal Cornet player.  Speaking of the appointment, the Band's Musical Director, Michael Alcorn said "we are thrilled to have Hannah join us at Downshire.  She is a rising star and will bring a lot to the future of the band in the coming years".  

Hannah, who began her playing career at Third Carrickfergus Band said:

"I'm really excited about taking up my position as Principal Cornet and to be playing with such an enthusiastic band as Downshire.  I look forward to joining them in the next stage of their development.  I greatly appreciate the amount of training I have received over the years with Third Carrick and am thankful for their help and support."

Hannah's appointment comes as part of a series of moves within the Band including Amy Wilson to Flugelhorn, Joe Murray to solo cornet, and Tony Ferris to solo horn.
